On the occasion of the Louis Vuitton Men's Spring-Summer 2022 runway show, Virgil Abloh collaborated with Nike to design 47 pairs of bespoke Air Force 1s, fusing the trainer's classic codes with the insignia and materials of Louis Vuitton in homage to the hip-hop culture that shaped him.

The Air Yeezy 2 NRG 'Pure Platinum' launched in June 2012 featuring a subdued colorway that blends varying shades of grey on the upper and a contrasting pop of bright red on the collar lining. The unique design allows it to straddle the line between fashion and sport. The snakeskin texture on the side panels and prominent ridges on the molded rubber heel serve to elevate the design, but the Air Tech Challenge II midsole keeps the shoe grounded in the heritage of the Swoosh.

The Air Yeezy 2 NRG 'Solar Red' may share a familiar color palette with its Air Yeezy 'Blink' predecessor, but the newer model stands out with a more refined silhouette, accented with special details crafted specifically for Kanye. They include a molded rubber heel, anaconda textured side panel, and Egyptology references on the tongue and midfoot strap. One feature carried over from the original Air Yeezy is the glow-in-the-dark outsole, utilized here on tooling lifted from the Nike Air Tech Challenge II.
