'INRI' is printed on the opposite tab (short for Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum, which was inscribed on the cross), while the lateral forefoot is marked with an allusion to Matthew 14:25, the biblical chapter and verse that references Jesus' feat of walking on water.
