When Nike SB first unveiled the 'Raygun' edition of the Dunk Low Pro SB in 2005, the shoe was part of a two-pack collection of black and white renditions. The shoe takes inspiration from Nike's fictional ABA team known as the Roswell Rayguns. The colorway is based on the team's home uniforms, with the Raygun team logo appearing on the heel.

There's no slowing down for the Dunk in 2021 with Nike set to embark on the silhouette's biggest year ever. Already having previewed dozens of upcoming options for the new year - from general releases to more OFF-WHITE collaborations - yet another appears. This time around, it's a Low version of the original "UNLV" Nike Dunk from 1985. It's a Low that Virgil Abloh used as a base on his selection of Nike Dunks in late 2019, which in itself will drive up the hype. This, though, is void of any OFF-WHITE flair — no external lace overlays, tack-on stitching or exposed-foam tongues, just straight-up classic construction. "Soft Grey" sets the stage for the eye-catching "University Red" that overtakes every overlay across the upper, liner and laces. "NIKE AIR" branding at the tongue also indulges in the scarlet tone atop a grey tag, with the heel embroidery reversed. Sole units remain unchanged from the OG, arriving in a classic white and red arrangement to complete the design.

The Nike Dunk Low 'City Market' pays tribute to temporary street markets and the industrial packaging used to ship their various wares, including rice and coffee bags that are typically upcycled for miscellaneous use. Those burlap vessels are recreated on some of the mismatched textile panels that make up the composition of the upper, while colorful graphics give the nod to Blue Ribbon Sports, Nike's precursor brand. A nutrition label-like tag adorns the tongue, which is equipped with a zippered compartment inspired by reusable grocery totes. Additional details include a transparent Swoosh and a graphic on the left sockliner that states 'Thank you for caring!'
