In addition to the white/yellow sample colorway of the OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 1 currently on display at Virgil Abloh's "Figures of Speech" exhibition at Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art, there are also a couple of Air Jordan 4 samples that are creating quite the buzz. The air jordan 4 "Cream Sail" takes on a Bred-like with extra unique details such as translucent wings, a new textured toe, and “AIR” on the midsole.

The KAWS x Air Jordan 4 Retro is a collaboration between the Jordan Brand and Brooklyn-based street artist KAWS, a.k.a. Brian Donnelly. The design removes the silhouette's traditional plastic accents and dresses the entire upper and midsole in a premium grey suede upper. The sneaker also features KAWS' 'XX' branding on the heel tab. The shoes were released alongside a small capsule collection that included a coaches jacket, hoodie, t-shirt, and hat in March of 2017. The hype was so intense for this release that the in-store raffle at Patta in London was read the riot act by the police and sneakerheads hacked into Donnelly's website for a chance at the drop.

The Air Jordan 4 Retro 'Motorsports Alternate' follows up the release of the Air Jordan 4 'Motorsport' inspired by MJ's Motorsport Racing Team. Released in June of 2017, this alt colorway features a premium black leather upper with mesh netting on the side panels, Matte Silver eyelets, and Game Royal accents.

The Air Jordan 4 Retro 'Starfish' updates the classic silhouette with a unique build inspired by an astronaut's spacesuit. The Union LA x Air Jordan 4 Retro 'Off Noir' represents the follow-up effort to the duo's highly coveted Air Jordan 1 collaboration from 2018. The updated design features a black suede upper with matching black mesh on the toe box and blue mesh around the collar. The semi-translucent structural wings are attached to molded red eyelets, matching the woven Air Jordan tag atop the padded tongue and Nike Air branding on the heel. The TPU wings are filled in, reminiscent of an original Tinker Hatfield sketch of the AJ4, while the AIR JORDAN tag usually found on the inside of the tongue conveys a unique look, like someone folded the tongue over to expose the inside tag. Finally, a 'UN/LA' tag on the side panel shows the Union heritage and a yellowed midsole conveys a vintage aesthetic.

Releasing as part of the renowned retailer's 30th anniversary festivities, the Union LA x Air Jordan 4 Retro 'Desert Moss' brings back the creative partners' modified AJ4 from 2020. This pair is taken from a capsule dubbed 'Tent and Trail,' featuring colors and materials inspired by outdoor gear from the '80s and '90s. The mid-top carries an upper built with a blend of bright purple mesh and mustard yellow suede. Vibrant pops of turquoise land on the lower molded eyelets and heel tab, marked with Nike Air branding in a lavender hue. A stitched fold-down tongue, yellow 'UN/LA' tag and translucent TPU wings are carried over from the 2020 release. The sneaker is mounted on an off-white polyurethane midsole with an aqua-tinged Air-sole unit under the heel.

Released in January of 2015, the Air Jordan 4 Retro LS 'Legend Blue' is a remastered version of the 1999 Air Jordan 4 'Columbia.' The 'Columbia' was the first Air Jordan colorway that wasn't part of the original 1989 release. The Air Jordan 4 Retro LS 'Legend Blue' features a white tumbled leather upper with perforated leather quarter panels replacing the standard mesh netting.
