In 1985 sports photographer, Chuck Kohn, photographed Michael Jordan wearing the Air Jordan 1 Royals. This photo turned Nike poster was the first time anyone saw Michael wearing the Air Jordan 1 sneakers. Ever. Known to be his favorite colorway, Jordan chose the Royals to be the first Air Jordan 1 available for purchase. They were also the only color-way out of the Top 3 Air Jordan 1 Retro colorways ('Banned' and 'Chicago') that he never wore on the court. After just releasing his Air Jordan 1's in "Lux" Rubberized Python, famed sneaker customizer The Shoe Surgeon has returned with a new iteration of the iconic silhouette following the successful release of the Travis Scott's "Cactus Jack" AJ1. Continuing on with premium materials and craftsmanship, Shoe Surgeon's studio has put together an Earth Tone "Scrap Leather" TS AJ1 that shares many of the same characteristics as the rapper's famed iteration. Created using left-over materials found around his studio, The Shoe Surgeon's latest model comes in a vibrant array of colors via tumbled leather and nubuck suede, paired with lux waxed laces in black.
