This Air Jordan 1 was originally spotted on the feet of Nike SB team rider Theotis Beasley that comes in a Los Angeles Lakers color scheme. It features a White leather toe box and side panels with Purple trimming along the toe, eyelets and heel, and Yellow on the Swoosh logos and collar. Much like previous Nike SB releases, this one will have a wear away design that looks to have a Chicago-like scheme underneath.

The Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG gives Nigel Sylvester, a pro rider from Queens, New York, a high-top AJ1 in cream leather showcasing a worn-in aesthetic. Sylvester prefers the Air Jordan 1 when cruising around on his BMX, and the distressed shoe mimics natural scuffs and abrasions from mastering tricks. Pre-scuffed markings can be found on the toe and heel, while a mini-Swoosh can be found near the front toe of the shoe, a first for the Air Jordan 1.

One of the original colorways of the Air Jordan 1 line, the Air Jordan 1 Retro BG 'Black Toe' grew in popularity after being featured in several Nike promotional campaigns (including the photo that inspired the Jordan logo itself). Banned by the NBA in 1985, Michael Jordan was charged $5,000 per game for wearing the Air Jordan 1 'Black/Red' because they didn't include the color white which was part of the Chicago Bulls' official team colors. Used as a marketing tactic, Nike crafted the 'Banned' campaign around the sneakers to launch and promote the Air Jordan line. The sneaker was retroed in 1994, 2011, 2013 and 2016.
